The plan released Wednesday by the Northern Virginia Transporation Authority includes projects across all transportation modes, totaling approximately $75 billion in capital costs across Northern Virginia, and adjacent areas of DC and Maryland.  (Hannah Denham / Business Journal)

Electric and hybrid vehicle drivers in Maryland high occupancy lanes must have the required number of passengers in the lanes starting on October 1. An exemption program, which had been in place since 2010, was not renewed during the recent Maryland General Assembly session.   (Luz Lazo / Post)

WSSC Water, the agency that provides water for Prince George’s and Montgomery counties, is embroiled in a leadership challenge after water costs to customers and internal costs of providing water have risen over the past three years. Two board members have been asked to resign by the general manager after they refused to renew her contract due to cost concerns raised.  (Post)  

The warehouse, Community Forklift, was established in 2005 in a warehouse just across the District line owned by Washington Gas. It serves as a key point for recycling construction waste throughout the region but is struggling with other operating expenses in addition to rent and laid off staff last year.  (Jacob Fenston / DCist)  

The Alexandria Office of the Arts, Arlington Cultural Affairs Office, and ArtsFairfax have joined together to form the Northern Virginia Local Arts Agencies (NVLAA). The alliance, the first between these jurisdictional agencies, will launch this fall with a set of professional development workshops catered to artists working in and from Northern Virginia.  (Elliot C. The Capitol South interruption will last between station opening and 7 pm Saturday and Sunday. The Yellow line will operate between National Airport and Huntington. Red line trains will single track in select places due to crosstie renewal.
